Lonely Travelers, the story I started on the Xile Forum, will continue here, on this forum. Exiles can read the story too!

Before the story starts, I'm going to put character bio's and the plot here.

PLOT:

Samira is an eighteen-year-old Ascalon refugee that lives in Lion's Arch. It's Autumn, harvesting season, the time the crops are brought to the city. This year, however, has been a bad crop year, so Lion's Arch needs someone to go to the cornfield, which is a lot farther from Lion's Arch than the cropfield.

When a fake hero chickens out when he hears that there are monsters everywhere these days, Samira jumps up and promises she will go and make it back safely. The next day she leaves Lion's Arch. After a quick stop in a village nearby, an old man tells her to watch out for what's below. Samira neglects the man's warning, and makes it to the cornfield. Just as she starts picking, she feels the ground rumble beneath her feet. Samira decides to make a run for it, but just as she's about to do so, the ground opens up under her feet, and Samira falls in the hole.

Underground, she meets a Necromancer who's looking for his sister, Aerya. With him are a Dwarf and some strange creature Samira can't quite make out. When all of a sudden weird monsters attack, the Necromancer kills them singlehandedly. Samira is impressed by this, and agrees to help him find his sister, if the Necromancer teaches her how to handle a sword. The Necromancer agrees, and this marks the start of a journey across Tyria, both above and under the ground...and it gets even worse as the group learns of a plot to destroy the world....

_______

Character bio's:

SAMIRA

Age: 18
Place of origin: Ascalon
Fighting styles: None
Weapons: Butterfly Swords

Samira was twelve when the Searing happened. She had to watch her own family getting killed by the Charr. Some time later, she was imprisoned by the beasts, along with Althea and a few others, planned as a sacrifice to the gods of the Charr. She managed to flee however, and as a 14 year old traveled to Kryta, along with the Ascalonian refugees. Samira didn't trust the White Mantle at all, and secretly followed the Chosen through the Wilds. After being discovered by the Shining Blade, Samira feared for her life, but her captors brought her to Evennia, who had some sympathy and adopted her. Studying under her, Samira learned small healing spells. When the Mursaat were revealed as the White Mantle's Unseen Gods, Samira was allowed to go back to Lion's Arch.

Now 18, she still lives there, going to the Lion's Arch Dojo every day to watch combatants fight it out in the ring. Samira wants to learn how to fight. Maybe someday....

SYD

(Author's note: Syd isn't me. He's my character. I'm not like him. Not at all)

Age: 26
Place of origin: Was born in the Echovald Forest, but was raised in the Tengu village Aerie.
Fighting styles: The Canthan fighting style Sei Shinro (unofficial).
Weapons: Staff of Death, Sword of Light, Naginata, Daggers.
Profession: Fictional Syd is a primary Necromancer, but in the eight years between A Canthan Adventure and this story he has mastered every profession almost succesfully.

Syd (full name Sydeus) is a Canthan Necromancer. Dropped at the step of a house in a Tengu village along with his sister as a baby. Educated in the ways of the Tengu, Syd can sense if a person is good or bad.

Syd discovered he was to save the world from Shiro along with Aerya at Minister Cho's Estate, when Master Togo told him. It was a hard blow to the two, but they decided to go on anyway. Ridding the world from Afflicted wasn't that easy though. When they discovered Shiro was an Envoy, and Envoys could only be seen by people who were Closer to the Stars, they went to Oracle Suun. After a long battle in which Syd and Aerya merged, they finally defeated the Celestials and split. As one of the only ones who survived Kaijun Don's mind corruption Syd got Kaijun Don's ability to deceive people's minds. This ability proved to be useful in their following adventures, in which they had to unite the Kurzicks and Luxons to fight Shiro.

At last, 18 months after their journey started they arrived at the palace for the final battle. Shiro had become mortal yet again by slaying Master Togo. In a climactic battle on the bridge at the Imperial Sanctum, Syd and Aerya discovered that Shiro was their ancestor. Enraged by this, Syd stabbed Shiro through the heart with his sword, and then flung him off the bridge. Cantha was safe again.

Syd and Aerya didn't get any rest though, as they had to help the Chosen defeat the Lich. They succeeded, with Aerya bashing his head off with her hammer.

After that, Elona had to be saved from the mad Varesh and Abaddon. They managed to do so with the help of Sunspear general Gana Calavera. After Kormir ascended to the heavens, Syd and Aerya decided to finally call it a rest.

6 months passed, and on one morning, Aerya was gone. Syd had looked everywhere for her, but it was as if she had evaporated.

Syd really didn't know what to do at that point. He was desperate to find Aerya, so he joined an assassin guild called the Snakes to help him find her. The guild leader was deceitful however, and let Syd do all the dirty work first. In 2 and a half years, Syd learned the abilities of the remaining professions. With his Naginata in his hand, he prepared to leave the guild, but the guild leader didn't approve of that. Syd used the very skills the guild leader taught him, this time against him, and made sure he was dead. The battle had however left a scar all across Syd's face. Chased by the Snakes, Syd went to Oracle Suun, who discussed coming earthquakes with him, which would reveal an entire continent below. He also mentioned Aerya being there. Syd jumped up in glee and headed to Tyria, where he descended into yet another adventure....to save Aerya.

New theme song added to the list:

Chad Kroeger- Hero (ft. J. Scott)

I am so high, I can hear heaven
I am so high, I can hear heaven
Whoa, but heaven...no, heaven don't hear me

And they say
That a hero could save us
I'm not gonna stand here and wait
I'll hold onto the wings of the eagles
Watch as we all fly away

Someone told me
Love would all save us
But, how can that be
Look what love gave us

A world full of killing
And blood spilling
That world never came

And they say
That a hero could save us
I'm not gonna stand here and wait
I'll hold onto the wings of the eagles
Watch as we all fly away

Now that the world isn't ending
It's love that I'm sending to you
It isn't the love of a hero
And that's why I fear it won't do

And they say
That a hero could save us
I'm not gonna stand here and wait
I'll hold onto the wings of the eagles
Watch as we all fly away

[Repeat 3x]
And they're watching us
They're watching us
As we all fly away
