True, but I'd prefer to get a decent one to use on one of my hero rangers. Got a green and a gold (or maybe it's purple?) but I still need a decent one for Jin.
Think I'll try for Johon's Longbow actually. It's not too far from the EotN so I can keep respawning him for it. |

Cant u just mod one up?
I got an Undead bow (Turai's story) and put a maxed zealous, fortitude and 15^50 on it. Probably easier than going for a green.
U doing him solo or with a team? |

Heroes and henchies only.
Don't have a Longbow to mod up. Plus, I'm too lazy to get all the materials and too cheap to buy one
Not too bothered. I don't have anything better to do and if I do get bored, I'll just go back to Elona and keep trying to complete the Vanquisher or Guardian titles. |

Though saying that, you've just given me an idea to defeat that bloody Gracial Griffon in Sifhalla. Been trying to get past that quest for weeks now. I almost defeat it once with the Ritualist Bison Tornament build but the bloody thing just keeps spamming spirits whereas I can only have 1 of each type - Most unfair! The Necromancer build I don't really have the energy recharge for and there's no-one around for me to take advantage of the Leadership attribute. Tried the Mesmer build as well and I've got him to just under half health - then I died. Only one I haven't tried is the Ranger build and that's because I don't have a Longbow...yet. |
After reading that, I remembered I got stuck on that aswell with my para so I've just gone back to see if i cud beat it. After a few trial builds, I beat him with...
1.Barbed Spear
2.Holy Spear
3.Disrupting Lunge
4.Disrupting Throw
5.You Move Like A Dwarf
6.Poisonous Bite
7.Heal As One
8.Charm Animal
Max out spear and beast mastery stats and away you go. Interupt each ritual and if he manages to create a spirit, destroy with holy spear. |

Hmm...not a bad idea actually. Sounds like a pretty decent build. I'll try it out and if it works then I'll chuck it into the GW Wiki. I'll give credit for it as well of course. Credit where credit isdue etc etc.
I've always thought that the main thing lacking from a Paragon is a companion to watch your back. A pet or beast would be fantastic for that.
It's a shame my Siege Turtle isn't interested in that side of it That'd be awesome!
May I ask what animal you brought with you and what level it was?
Edit: Nvm Tried the build out and am still getting pwned but it's promising. Hopefully if I practice it a bit more I'll nail the git! Oh, and I managed to charm myself a Black Moa - fricken awesome!

It was a level 19 dire tiger. Used a similar build to win the Bison tournament, just substituted Holy Spear with Maiming Spear. Aslong as the only conditions you place on Bison are bleeding and cripple, he doesn't use purge signet. Definetly not the fastest way to beat him with the amount of kiting I had to do but saved me a lot of cash from not having to buy something like loads of rit skills. |
