Guys, the next chapter will come when I'm back in Holland. This computer is way too laggy and costs money.

Here's a short "trailer" of what will happen in the story from this point on. I dunno, maybe someone could make a real trailer out of it?

Unnamed TLT Trailer

For you, it is the future. For me, it is the past. My name is Samira, and this is my story.

*Samira awakens in a strange place. She's surrounded by clouds, and before her stands a hooded figure, holding a nicely decorated sword.

Hooded figure: Samira Elodryn, eighteen years old, red hair, blue eyes, traveling with Sydeus Silverwing, Gwen, Doggie, Vekk, and Ogden Stonehealer. Am I correct?

*Samira gets up.*

Samira: Who are you? And how do you know who I am?

Hooded figure: We...'met' in the past. My name is Ayus. Demi-god, a commander of Balthazar's army, and a great warrior, second only to Balthazar himself. I am here to teach you the fine arts of the Warrior, Assassin, and Dervish. And I will also be your tutor in the martial arts. For one year, I am your master, your teacher, your sensei. Am I clear?

Samira: One year? But the world is about to be destroyed!

Ayus: We're in the Realm of the Gods. What is one year here, is but a moment there on Earth.

*Samira notices that the emblem on his cloak is the same as the one tattooed on Syd's back.*

Samira: The Silverblade emblem...you're...

Ayus: Yes. I am a Silverblade. You see...I am Sydeus' father.

*Ayus pulls the hood from his head, revealing....Oh, I'll tell you, eventually.*

A tale of courage...

*Samira is going through Oola's Lab, trying to find Syd who is missing. She's just finished one of Oola's tests.*

Oola's voice: Oh, you're a brave little brat. Maybe, who knows, I'll let you live and give you to Gadd for one of his experiments.

Samira: Eww.

*Samira cuts down a golem, only for another to come from behind.*

Oola's voice: You'll never defeat my golems!

Samira: Oh yeah? Watch me!

*Samira puts her butterfly swords in her bag, then pulls the Sword of Dreams from the scabbard on her back.*

Samira: Ayus, protect me! EARTH RUSH!

*Samira charges forward, runs vertically up the wall, then, at the ceiling, jumps off, plunging the sword in the ground, creating a fissure that opens the ground beneath the golems, who fall to their deaths. The ground closes up again.*

Samira: *breathing heavily* Thank...you...

A tale of friendship and trust.

*Mizu is in Cantha, having just scared off two guards who were kicking a little girl.*

Girl: Thank you, sir. Those mean guards have been picking on me for ages!

*Mizu, without his mask and hood, kneels down before the little girl*

Mizu: Don't worry kid, they've done that to me when I was young. They made a monster out of me.

Girl: You're not a monster.

Mizu: Do you mean that?

Girl: You're cute! I mean, I can't see it, because I'm blind, but I can sense it!

Mizu: Why, thank you!

*Mizu stands up again, smiling*

Mizu: Where are your parents, little girl?

Girl: I'm an orphan. My mother and father were both killed by mean people called the Snakes. Do you know them?

Mizu: Were your parents... Wakeh and Zao Feng?

Girl: Yes...

Mizu: I'm sorry girl, I don't know their murderer. *He has killed them himself.*

Girl: Okay. My name is Sitsae by the way, in case you wondered. Friends?

Mizu: Friends.

A tale of madness....

*Syd and the gang are captured by Charr camping in the Tarnished Coast*

Drunk Charr: Okay, mice, let's make a deal. I'll let you go, if I can spend the night with that pretty mouse over there! *points to Samira*

Samira: You're mad!

Drunk Charr: You'll have to choose! Either you come with me, or your friends die! Choose!

Samira: (crying) Alright, I'll come with you!

(Don't worry, this won't be what you think it is, Samira won't let it happen!)

A tale of love

Samira: Syd...I think I...

Syd: Samira, I...

Both: ...love you.

*Syd and Samira kiss*

This is no ordinary tale. It is a legend, one of great proportions.

Let me explain things for you.

Firstly, Ayus. Ayus is Syd's dad (not my dad, HIS DAD!) who, just like he said, is a commander in Balthazar's army. He sent Syd and Aerya to Earth during the battles between the army of Balthazar, and the army of the Dark God, Taekhra, from who you'll hear more in the story. Ayus teaches Samira how to use all different kinds of techniques, weapons, and attacks.

The Sword of Dreams is a sword passed down from generation to generation in the Silverblade family. In the trailer above, Samira uses Syd's to kill golems. The Sword is a weapon that gives the wielder the power of the last creature he or she slayed with it to use to his or her advantage.

Mizu will turn good in the end. He meets a blind girl, Sitsae, and helps her find new parents. Doing a good deed, however, isn't generally accepted within the Snakes and Mizu is banished from the guild. Now HE is the one being chased. He teams up with Syd to stop the Destroyer threat in the Tarnished Coast.

And I'm sorry if the Drunk Charr made you go "WTF?". Samira will use her assassination techniques on this guy, I swear.

Syd and Samira will fall in love, so brace yourselves!

Book One: The Knowledgeable Asura

Chapter Four: Ayus

Samira was standing in an open field. The sky was a bright blue, there were flowers all around her, animals drinking from rivers, and she could see a castle in the distance.

Wait..a castle?

Samira took a closer look around, and then gasped. The flowers...they weren't ordinary. They were Red Iris Flowers. The flowers that only appear in Ascalon, and the Charrlands.

She was in Ascalon.

She didn't get it. It looked just like it did before the Searing. Was this a dream?

'Ah, I see you're admiring the sights.'

The voice annoyed Samira rather than startle her. She just wanted to be alone, alone with her childhood...She turned around anyway.

'Where am I?'

"Samira Elodryn, 18 years old, red hair, blue eyes, traveling with Sydeus, Gwen, Vekk, Ogden, and Doggie, am I correct?" the voice replied.

"You didn't answer my question."

'Oh, you are in a safe place, the rest doesn't matter.'

With a bang, a figure appeared next to her. He was wearing a cloak, with a hood fully pulled over his face, probably to hide some kind of disfigurement.

'Who...are you?' Samira asked, reaching into her bag for her swords. She found them and grasped them tightly, then aimed one at the hooded figure.

'Whoa, easy there, little one.' the figure held his hand up to show he was unarmed. 'Look at my clothing. Does something about me...remind you of someone?' Samira looked closely. The man's armbraces...they looked exactly like Syd's...Then she looked at the cloak, which was marked with the same sign as Syd had as a tattoo on his back...

'Syd?'

The figure took a step forward.

'Almost right.'

He lifted his hood from his head. When he was almost done, Samira felt like throwing up.

This man had a skull for a head. Red flames danced in his eyesockets while he looked at her from all sides. Samira felt intimidated, and shoved her swords back into her bag.

'Welcome to the Realm of the Gods, young one.' the Undead said, never dropping the mysterious tone in his voice. 'My name is Ayus, Demi-God of combat and martial arts. My son has requested that you be put under my care, where you will become a great warrior. My task is to teach you the arts of the Assassin, Warrior, and the Dervish. You will stay here for one year.'

'ONE YEAR!?' Samira shouted. 'The world is about to be destroyed, and I have to stay here for a year!?'

Ayus didn't seem worried one bit. 'Do not forget, my child, that we are in the Realm of the Gods. Time forever stands still here.'

This calmed Samira down. She sighed in relief.

'You're a very lucky person, Samira. Remember that. I am one of the best warriors, second only to Balthazar himself. Train with me, and you'll be just as good as Sydeus, perhaps even better. You can do it.' Ayus whispered.

'How do you know that?'

'Because I believe in you. All you have to do now, is to do the same.'

'Okay, I'm in.' Samira mumbled.

'Okay. Your training starts tomorrow.' Ayus said, slowly disappearing. 'Oh, and thank you for aiding my son.'

'So...'

Ayus nodded. 'I am Sydeus' father.'

Then Ayus was gone, and Samira was left alone in the fields she had not seen for so many years. The wind blew through the bushes as she, too, disappeared.

This chapter explains what happened to Mizu after Samira 'killed' him. It goes a bit back in time.

After shadow-stepping away, I fall to the ground, not even taking a look at my surroundings. The pain in my back is killing me. Literally. The god of fate has strange ways. You want to take down one of the world's best killers, and manage to get killed by his friend, who can't even hold a sword right. I chuckle to myself quietly. So it has all come down to this. Never got to have a family of my own. Well, guess no-one would want to live with a monster such as me. At least I took revenge on the bastards who made me like this. Gives at least some satisfaction.

I smile and use the last of my power to turn around and stare at the stars, just for one last time. They're shining bright this evening. So beautiful. My last wish would be to grab one from the sky, and give it to the one I love most.

"Everything I did...I did it for you....Mei-Xing....."

And then Mizu, world's greatest assassin, was no more.

=============Back to Samira, in the PRESENT=============

"So, you think you're done? Well, not quite!"

"I'll show you! Dragon SLASH!"

"Demon Slayer!"

Sparks flew from the swords as they connected with each-other, metal versus metal. Samira tried to push harder, but she was no match for Ayus, who was obviously stronger and better prepared. Even the various spells she had learned from him over the past few months had no effect on the big man. Samira breathed heavily, clasping her swords even tighter in her hands, pushing back harder than she already did. Ayus saw this, and without a warning gave her a knee in the stomach. Samira fell backward, on the cold stone floor. She groaned, then looked at Ayus, who was towering above her, sword raised above his head, the tip directly pointing at Samira's stomach. Ayus grinned, the flames in his eyesockets glowing bright.

"You know," he said calmly, "I could kill you right now. But I don't want to. Why not, you ask? Well, girl, you've got potential. In the past months, you've really grown, both mentally and physically. There is however one problem."

"What is it?" asked Samira weakly before coughing up some blood. Damn, the guy could kick hard.

"Your lack of faith."

"Huh?"

"You don't believe in yourself, Samira. Easy to understand, because you're not really a professional yet. But I can see in your eyes that you yourself think you lose because your lack of experience. Well, Samira, let me tell you, in the end, it's not about experience, it's about having the courage to face your enemy. Who cares if you win or lose, at least you tried, and that's what matters. I learned that personally, but that is a story for another time and place. For now, I want you to rest and think about what I just said. Tomorrow will be your last day here. Good night."

Ayus helped Samira stand up, then vanished in a puff of smoke. Samira stood there, a bit puzzled, before she too, vanished.
